Okay so let's dive straight in, basically your lips need to be exfoliated just like the rest of your face and body. This totally natural lip scrub will gently remove the dead skin cells from your lips, leaving them soft and plump. It also takes about 5 mins to make, so kind a no-brainer to give it a go, am I right?

Start with a small bowl. Use your jar to measure the raw sugar, nearly filling it to the top. Add about 1 teaspoon of sea salt, and mix them together. Next, using coconut oil or grapeseed oil, coat the sugar mixture. Make sure to add a few drops at a time whilst mixing to ensure you don't add too much oil. The goal is to just coat the granules, not to have them swimming!
At this stage you have the base of your lip scrub. You can totally use it as-is and keep things simple, or continue reading to add more scents and flavours x
So if you are reading this, girl you wild and want to customize the sh*t out of your lip scrub. We dig that. But before tossing every scent into your cute cauldron, pick your theme. Do you want something tropical? Warm and chocolate-y? Citrus? or maybe calming, like, vanilla and lavender? It's your moment to get creative and really personalize your scrub - but here are a few combos for some inspo
grapeseed oil base 1 tsp lavender buds 3 drops vanilla essential oil coconut oil base 3 drops lime essential oil 1 drop lemon essential oil 1 drop orange essential oil | coconut oil base 1/2 tsp cocoa grapeseed oil base 1 drop teatree essential oil 2 drops lime essential oil | grapeseed oil base 1 tsp crushed rose petal 2 drops vanilla essential oil coconut oil base 1/2 ultra fine coffee grinds |
Before I forget to mention! If you are adding fresh ingredients like lavender buds or rose petal then you should use up your scrub asap. Salt and sugar are natural preservatives but I wouldn't let it sit around for weeks in a steamy bathroom - feel me? If you know you will use it once and forget to use it again until 2018, then maybe stick with the base mix of sugar/salt/oil. It will keep for ages but you may need to give it a little shake before use as the oil will settle.
Okay almost done I swear. Once you are happy with your lip scrub smell and texture, you can add a little extra goodness. A few drops of Vitamin E oil and Jojoba oil will take your scrub to the next level and help nourish your lips even after you wash it off! Oh and toss some edible glitter in if you are planning on gifting this to your best babe (or if your just extra).
WHEN TO USE?
Since this lip scrub is so gentle, you could honestly use it everyday if you wanted. I try to at least 3 times a week.
HOW TO SCRUB?
I like to use my lip scrub in the evening before bed so all the oils can soak into my lips whilst I sleep. Try after brushing your teeth when your lips are damp. Pre-warning it's messy and half will end up in your sink 100% of the time
Scoop a small bit with your fingers and massage it all over your lips in circular motions for a couple minutes. Rinse it off with cool water and gently pat your lips try with a towel, careful not to remove your precious oils that are going to make you the most kissable in town. Toss on your fave lip balm and catch some ZzZzZz's. You'll wake up with baby soft lips.
